YWCA Days

Young Women’s Community Action Days offer young women everywhere a chance to be heard! Young women select a date that works for their community, tied into issues that they care about. March 1st has been a popular date for this event, chosen because it is one week before International Women’s Day (IWD), an annual commemoration that began in the early 1900s. Every year on IWD, thousands of events around the world are held to celebrate women’s achievements and inspire new ones. It’s a great example of Think Big/Start Small because all those diverse local activities connect women around the planet in a powerful way.

On the day of their choosing, young women across Canada will be holding rallies, events, workshops, online features and all kinds of creative actions to gear up to the big day. Join the movement!
